Pat Barrett is an American singer-songwriter best known as the frontman of the contemporary Christian rock band Housefires.
∙ The son of a pastor, Barrett began playing guitar and writing songs at age ten. ∙ He cowrote Chris Tomlin’s devotional hit “Good Good Father,” which sold more than 1 million copies and topped Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs chart for seven weeks in 2016. ∙ Inspired by the success of “Good Good Father,” Barrett and Tomlin teamed up to write a children’s book of the same name, which has sold more than 200,000 copies. ∙ Barrett’s self-titled 2018 solo LP reached No. 22 on Billboard’s Top Christian Albums chart and No. 11 on the UK’s Official Christian & Gospel Albums chart. ∙ The exultant song “Build My Life” is his most successful solo single to date, peaking at No. 4 on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs chart in 2018. ∙ He has collaborated with several other popular contemporary Christian artists, including Steffany Gretzinger, Amanda Cook, Ben Smith, and Cory Asbury.
